Itinerary

Mistura, or mixture, is a description of the gastronomic diversity of Peru. It is an annual event held in Lima since 2008, where chefs from all over the world and more than 200 restaurants  present the full scale of cuisine from all areas of the country.

The festival focuses on the bountiful vegetables, seafood, spices and fruits native to the distinct geographic regions of the country, from the high, cool atmosphere of the Andes to the coastal desert bordering the Pacific to the tropical Amazon. Wines, piscos, beer and liqueurs complement the savory and sweet Peruvian flavors offered in the food booths.

The fairgrounds are organized into “mundos” or worlds that showcase a type of cuisine such as ceviche, breads or desserts.  The Mundo Fusiones highlights the influence of the Chinese and Japanese on Peruvian food, a true fusion that has become an important part of Peru’s culinary repertoire. Mundo de las Carretillas features food of urban street carts, each specializing in a delicious presentation of a salty or sweet. The Zonas de beverages presents juices, coffees, chichas and others near each “mundo” so that visitors can quench their thirst with drinks that complement the food.

Early today you will arrive to the fairgrounds and start the tour of the main attractions accompanied by a private guide, including the Grand Market, the Pisco and Coffee Salon, the sweets and chocolate Stall, The fusion salon, the seafood section, etc, as well as enjoying colorful processions, concerts, food preparation demonstration, shows, contests and other highlights.

At the end of the tour, return to the hotel.
